I received this book as an Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts, opinions, and quirky takes are entirely my own—because no one else can read between the spines quite like I do. Big thanks to NetGalley and Bantam/Random House for the ARC—and for fueling my TBR problem.
📖 Best described as:
The book to read when you’re pissed at the world and want sweet revenge, but knowing you can’t out and get it yourself.
🎭 Mood & Vibes:
Dark. I mean D-A-R-K. Gallows humor – oh yes, there is plenty of sarcasm and humor.
🏆 Standout Element:
Jet, as a main character, breaths sarcasm. When faced with death, she demands truth and justice and will do almost anything to get both. Jackson’s writing makes Jet leap off the page with her abrasive charm. You will find yourself rooting for her success long before the end.
🤔 Who would love this?
Readers who enjoy S.A. Cosby, Shari Lapena, and Gia Cribbs will enjoy this (and other Holly Jackson books).
🎬 Final Verdict:
Reading just the first sentence of the blurb will have you hooked.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 – Solid Plotline – Instant classic.
📚 Stack Placement: I will tell everyone about this one!
Vibes: 🕯️💀 Plot: 🧩 Ending: 🤐 Reaction: 👀 (legend)
